Its been a tradition for many years to visit O’Blarney’s in Centralia for St. Patrick’s Day. We will go this year a bit after the rush. All your favorites will still be on the menu, never fear. For more info, visit https://www.oblarneyspub.com/menu-centralia.
The charm of this drive is that it gets to Centralia without driving on the freeway. That means that the drive will take us about 3 hours with a stop for bio-breaks, stretching, and gas if you need it. We have two good routes and we will be taking the western side of I-5 this year, going north on Hwy 30. To keep your navigator/passenger occupied and have some fun, there will be observational questions along the way. We will have prizes for the most answers at the restaurant.
Meet at Portland International Raceway (1940 N. Victory Blvd. in Portland) parking lot to the left of the main gate at 10:15 am. Have your gas tank full and your bladder empty. We will leave there at 10:30 am. Our first stop will be at the Industrial Way Diner (1161 Industrial Way, Longview, WA 98632) and Chevron station in Longview. We will pick up Richard Redick and any other folks from Washington at noon. We will leave the Diner and gas station at 12:30 and drive the back roads north to Centralia. O’Blarney’s is expecting us at 2:30 pm for a mouth-watering late lunch. You park on the streets surrounding O’Blarney’s and come in the side door on Magnolia St. Restrooms are straight ahead, and our long table is in that side area.
